Obituary of Stephan Orosz

Stephan W. "Steve" Orosz, 79, of Vermilion, died Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his home after a sudden illness.

He was born June 16, 1938 in Elyria and had been a life long Vermilion area resident.

Steve was a veteran of the US Army where he served as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division.

He worked for Bettcher Industries for a short time before becoming a production engineer for Leer Romec, Elyria where he worked for 10 years retiring in 2000.

Steve had been a member of St. Mary's Church, Elyria when he was younger and sang in the choir. He was an avid skier and sailor and belonged to the Gull Harbor Yacht Club, Huron. Steve also enjoyed fishing, playing the bass guitar, and building and painting model airplanes.

He is survived by his brother, Dale (Donna Breeding) Orosz of Huron; his sister, Carol (Richard) Ferancy of Elyria; nieces, Suzanne Spain, Stephanie Zelinka, Beth Ann Gerdine, and Desiree Orosz; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steven Jr. and Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Nagy) Orosz.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 5:00 pm until the time of a Memorial Service at 7:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Father Ron Brickner will officiate. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct Military Honors just prior to the memorial service.
