Obituary of Ruth Watson
Ruth Bennett Watson (nee Mosier), 90, of Vermilion, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at Kingston Residence of Vermilion after a brief illness.
Ruth was born February 19, 1928 in Martinsville, IN. She had been a Vermilion resident for the past 52 years moving from Waverly, Ohio.
Ruth retired from the Vermilion school district as a 5th grade teacher and also taught in the Chillicothe school district.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was a life long member of OEA, NEA, NEOTA, and past president of the Vermilion Teachers Association and was a volunteer with Stein Hospice in Grief Recovery. She collected angel figurines and enjoyed reading, puzzles, watching sports, vacations, teaching, volunteering, and especially loved spending time with her family. She was a vibrant member of the community at Kingston of Vermilion and enjoyed outings and activities with them.
She is survived by her sons, Craig (Cathy) Bennett of Vermilion, and Charles Edward Bennett of Cincinnati; grandson, Scott Anthony (Jill) Bennett of Pataskala; granddaughter, Heather Renee Bachman of Vermilion; 2 great grandsons, Parker and Peyton; sister, Mary Catherine Bolin; and 8 step children.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Bennett in 1995, Dale Watson in 1976, and Howard Watson in 2014; son, John Cortland Bennett; brother, James Russell Mosier; and her parents, John Bain and Mabel (nee Russell) Mosier.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 4:00 pm until the time of a funeral service at 6:00 pm at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. Pastor Allison LeBrun will officiate.
